Learn the Pipes or Drums.

Now recruiting for our Youth Program (Ages 8+)

The Fredericton Academy of Piping and Drumming

The Fredericton Academy of Piping and Drumming is a unit of the FSSAPB dedicated to teaching piping and drumming to students in the area. Since 1985, the Academy has trained hundreds of students in their respective craft, with many rising to the highest competitive levels.

Students begin learning on a practice chanter or drum pad. Once they learn the fundamentals of their instrument, they progress to play with one of our bands.

There are regular opportunities for members of the FSSAPB to travel Canada and the World. These include performances in the United States, Scotland, Europe and at the North American Championships in Maxville, Ontario.

From September to June, we offer classes on:

  • Bagpipes

  • Snare Drum

  • Tenor/Bass Drum
